How to get to Datanla Waterfall

Datanla Waterfall lies on Prenn Pass, the stretch of National Road 20 that climbs out of Da Lat to the south, 5–6 km from the centre. No bus serves it reliably, so visitors come by Grab, taxi or motorbike, or on the hotel pick-up included in an online canyoning booking.

Driving to Datanla Waterfall from Xuan Huong Lake

A single road south, which turns into mountain bends on Prenn Pass.

  1. Ask for Thác Datanla

    In Grab or to a taxi driver, use the Vietnamese name, Thác Datanla.

  2. Ho Tung Mau Street to the big junction

    From the lake, follow Ho Tung Mau Street east to the large junction, then carry straight on along National Road 20.

  3. Up Prenn Pass

    Continue on National Road 20 up the pass and follow the Datanla signs.

  4. Entrance on the right

    The tourist area is on the right about halfway along the pass. Inside the entrance, turn right for canyoning and the High Rope Course.

Grab, motorbike, airport and hotel pick-up

Grab or taxi: check the fare in the app before booking. Few cars wait at the gate, so book the ride back in the app when you are ready to leave, or agree a pick-up time with your driver.

Motorbike: the pass is winding and turns slippery in the rain; take the bends slowly.

From Lien Khuong Airport: about 30 km along National Road 20, 30–40 minutes by taxi or Grab. The airport bus only runs to the city centre.

Canyoning pick-up: an online canyoning booking includes a shared transfer from hotels in central Da Lat; the operator's own trips also leave from the Dalattourist Travel Center at 01 Le Dai Hanh Street.

Not one to rely on. A few guides mention local buses along National Road 20, but most say there is none, so a Grab or taxi is the practical choice.

What is near Datanla Waterfall?

Truc Lam Zen Monastery is about 2.6 km away and Tuyen Lam Lake about 4.2 km, both reached by taxi or Grab. Da Lat Railway Station is about 4.6 km back towards town.

When should I arrive?

The area opens at 07:15, and the last entry is at 16:30. Canyoning leaves in the morning and the High Rope Course takes its last check-in at 13:45, so come early if you plan either.
