The schedule can change with the weather.

  1. Base camp

    Gear up and leave your things in a locker.

  2. 18 m abseil into the river

    The first descent, down a rock face to the stream.

  3. Zipline and Tyrolean traverse

    A zipline down the canyon, then a rope crossing over the water.

  4. Forest walk and water slide

    A trek through the forest, then a natural rock slide down the stream.

  5. 25 m waterfall abseil

    The longest descent, through the falling water.

  6. 7 m cliff jump

    A jump from a ledge into the river.

  7. The 'Washing Machine', 13 m

    The last abseil, down the fall the guides call the 'Washing Machine'.

Who can go and what to bring

Height and weight: at least 140 cm tall and under 120 kg. No special fitness or training is needed, but you must follow instructions in English, the language of the guides.

Not suitable: for people with limited mobility, high blood pressure, epilepsy or similar conditions, and no alcohol before the trip. Have breakfast before the pick-up.

Bring: swimwear, a change of clothes, sunscreen, a hat, insect repellent and closed water shoes or sport sandals. Base camp has toilets and lockers for the rest.

Meeting point: the shared transfer collects from hotels in central Da Lat; from elsewhere, meet at the falls 10 minutes before the start. At the Datanla entrance, turn right for the canyoning area.

How long does Datanla canyoning take?

The tour runs from about 08:00 to 14:00, transfers included; the operator puts the trip itself at 5–6 hours. A picnic lunch is included.

Can children do it?

Only from 140 cm tall, and every participant must understand instructions in English. For younger children the zipline starts at 120 cm and the coasters at 90 cm.
